  • Audit Request Data: When you request a video audit, we collect the YouTube video URL you submit and the email address where the report should be delivered.
  • Public Content Data: To produce an audit, we retrieve publicly available information about the submitted video and its channel, including the video transcript, description, title, thumbnail, view and engagement counts, and channel metadata. We never request or access your YouTube account, passwords, or private analytics.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected via cookies and tracking pixels.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use our website and interact with our emails (opens and clicks).

3. How We Use Audit Data

When you request an audit, we use the data described above to:

  • Generate and deliver your audit report;
  • Improve our audit methodology, detection accuracy, and benchmarks;
  • Produce aggregated and anonymized statistics and cross-channel analyses (for example, "84% of audited RV channels had unlinked product mentions"). Aggregated data never identifies you, your channel, or your videos;
  • Create anonymized examples of audit findings for educational and marketing purposes, including on our website, newsletter, and social media channels. Anonymized examples never include your channel name, username, video title, or any combination of details that could reasonably identify you. We will never feature your channel by name without your prior permission.

Audit reports are generated with the assistance of automated systems, including artificial intelligence models.

4. Third-Party Processors

To operate our service, we share data with trusted service providers:

  • Kit (ConvertKit): Newsletter delivery and subscriber management.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery, including audit reports and service notifications.
  • OpenAI: Automated analysis used to generate audit reports. Video transcripts and public metadata are processed via OpenAI's API.
  • Apify: Retrieval of publicly available YouTube data.
  • Cloudflare: Site security and bot protection.
  • Google Analytics: To analyze traffic patterns and improve site performance.
  • Meta (Facebook): We may use tracking pixels to measure the effectiveness of our social media growth strategies.

5. Data Retention

We retain audit request data and generated reports for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain our benchmarks, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your personal data (name, email) at any time. Anonymized and aggregated data derived from audits is not personal data and may be retained indefinitely.

As a technical-led organization, we implement industry-standard security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way. We limit access to your personal data to those employees or contractors who have a business need to know.
